What is Klondike Solitaire Classic?

Klondike Solitaire is a traditional kind of solitaire also known as Solitaire Classic, Patience or Klondike. Klondike Solitaire Classic is weIl-known as “Solitaire” in the U.S. and Canada, typically refers to as Klondike. Another name for Klondike Solitaire Classic is known as “Patience” also known as American Patience.

Solitaire is created in Germany back in 1780s. Solitaire gains in popularity in Germany, France, and later the rest of Europe. Back then, Solitaire was called Patience because the game itself requires “patience” to win. Even up to this day, Klondike Solitaire is still known as Patience especially in Europe.

Klondike Solitaire Turn 1 and Turn 3:

In Klondike Solitaire, you can choose to play Turn 1 or Turn 3. Turn 1 mean is you draw one cards at once while Turn 3 means you draw 3 cards at once. For Turn 3, you can only play the 1st of those three cards. If you successfully move the 1st card, then only you can play the second and third card.

Which one to play Turn 1 or Turn 3?

For Beginner in Klondike Solitaire, we recommend the easier one will be Turn 1 because every turn, you only turn 1 card and the chances of playing the turned card is higher. While for Turn 3, if the 1st card of the 3 cards cannot be moved, then you lose the chance to move the other 2 cards behind the 1st card. Turn 3 is harder to win as compared to Turn 1 in Klondike Solitare game.

How to play Klondike Solitaire Classic?

To win Klondike Solitaire game, your aim is to move all the cards back to the four Home slots at the lower left corner in the order of “A, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, J, Q, K”.

At the top left corner, there is a stack of cards known as stockpile, you can choose to draw 1 card (Turn 1) or 3 cards (Turn 3) at a time. Drawn cards can be moved to the suitable location at the 7 columns or can be moved directly to the Home slots. If Aces appears in draw or in the 7 columns, it will be automatically moved to the Home slots at the bottom left corner.

When cards are moved to the 7 columns, cards need to be arranged in the order of K, Q, J, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, A in alternate colors. When Aces are found, it can be moved to the Home slots followed by 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, J, Q, K. When you completed the Home slots in the order of “A, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, J, Q, K”, then you win the game.
